Fashion Victim
Editorial Photography and Photoshop Retouching
This editorial photography project accompanied an article exploring the concept of the “Fashion Victim.” The creative idea was to interpret the expression literally — depicting a fashion victim as one might see at a crime scene, outlined on the ground in chalk.
The composition was designed from a top-down perspective, allowing viewers to look directly at the “victim” of fashion excess. The contrast between the stylized wardrobe and the investigative setting created a provocative mix of dark humour, irony, and social commentary.
Through lighting, composition, and retouching, the final image balances fashion aesthetics with a critical undertone, questioning the pressures and absurdities of an industry that often sacrifices authenticity for appearance.
